The father of a missing 3-year-old in North Texas allegedly left his daughter alone in an area wrought with coyotes as punishment for not drinking her milk, according to charging documents.
Law enforcement said they believe Mathews is in grave or immediate danger.
Sherin's father, Wesley Mathews, was arrested and charged with abandoning or endangering a child.
Police said Mathew put the toddler outside around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, and told her to stand next to a large tree across from the alley. When he returned 15 minutes later, Sherin was gone. Police are looking for a silver 2008 Ford Fusion with the license plate 7RLR145. She has development issues and limited verbal communication skills.
Mathews was most recently seen wearing a pink best, dark pajama bottoms and pink flip-flops. She has brown eyes and black hair.
Authorities note the Amber Alert issued for Sherin on Saturday is still in force.
