Utah's Dante Exum (shoulder) likely to miss 'significant' time

National Basketball Association rumors about the #Utah Jazz and a #Dante Exum injury aren't good.

The Utah Jazz won their preseason game Friday night against the Phoenix Suns, but all anyone in Salt Lake City will care about is the health of point guard Dante Exum. "There is still no official timetable for his recovery process, but sources say Exum could miss a significant amount of time". Utah has a third point guard, Raul Neto, on its roster, too.

ESPN reported the injury was severe enough to jeopardize the Aussie's entire season.

Exum has failed to develop the way most anticipated since Utah made him the fourth overall pick of the 2014 draft.

The Jazz play the Suns Oct. 9 followed by the Lakers Oct. 10 in back-to-back road games to finish the preseason before opening the regular season Oct. 18 in Utah against the Nuggets.

Injuries remain a problem for Exum, who missed all of 2015-16 with a torn ACL and dealt with tendinitis among other issues in 2016-17. Only one of those games came against league competition, though, as they took on Sydney and then Haifa in the first two contests. Utah has two more preseason games, coming against the Suns on October 9 and then the Los Angeles Lakers on October 10.
