Police responded to the incident and found Paddock dead in his hotel room from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot.
Authorities are still trying to figure out what motivated Paddock, who has no evident criminal history, to carry out the shooting.
He had even booked a room at a different location in Las Vegas last month overlooking a different music festival, possibly using it as a dry run for the one in which he wreaked so much havoc last Sunday night. "This has been confirmed", said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Joseph Lombardo at a news conference Wednesday evening.
"We're hunting down and tracing down every single clue we can get in his background", he added.
Used to work as a casino hostess attending to "high-limit" players, and is thought to have met Stephen Paddock in a Nevada casino.
Danley is from the Philippines but she also has citizenship in Australia.
A law enforcement official says the girlfriend of the Las Vegas shooter has arrived in the USA from the Philippines and been met by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents at the airport.
Investigators believe Danley, who had traveled to Hong Kong on September 25, could fill in some of the blanks as to why Paddock assembled an arsenal of guns and opened fire on a crowd, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more.
A preliminary review of police records don't indicate that authorities had any contact with him but police are still investigating, Parrish said.
The gunman had around 23 weapons with him in the room, many of which were modified to make them shoot more quickly.
"Maybe he's a super guy that was working this all out on his own, but it would be hard for me to believe that", the sheriff said.
He said investigators had recovered items and video from the hotel.
"It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone", Ms Danley said in the statement read by Mr Lombard.
A clarified timeline was also provided, with police saying the shooting began at 10.05pm and finished 10 minutes later, but it was not until 11.20pm when the first police entered his room.
