Wife of Tennessee man killed in Las Vegas: 'Shots raining from everywhere'


We loved being together and people felt how much we loved each other and I will carry that with me forever. They wound up among the dead and wounded. There is no connection between the shooting and global terrorism, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

"Rhonda would do everything to be the best mom and the best wife she could be", LeRocque's sister, Jennifer Zelenski, told the Boston Globe.

Romero was beloved at Miyamura High School, Louise Leslie, whose 14-year-old great-granddaughter attended the school, told the Washington Post.

She told The New York Times how she shielded her younger brother from the gunfire.

"When we realized that gunshots were going off, and it wasn't just fireworks like everybody thought, I said, 'Let's get down, ' and he said 'no, we'll get trampled. I tried to perform CPR on him on the field", Heather Melton said. Sonny was the most kind-hearted, loving man I have ever met.

Heather and Sonny Melton planned to spend every possible second together. Prayers for Sonny, Heather, Susan and Janie and I are appreciated beyond belief.

"I know he saved my life", she said.

Jordan McIldoon, 23, of Maple Ridge in British Columbia, Canada, was attending the festival with his girlfriend, his parents told CBC.

Heather Gooze, a bartender at the festival, was holding McIlldoon's hand when his mother called. "She's tough as nails and just the salt of the earth", Al said. "He's the love of my life".

Authorities in Las Vegas are asking the public for patience during the identification process of the deceased.

"Quinton was a pay-it-forward kinda guy", family friend Tyce Jones told Newsweek.

Among those who lost their lives were an off duty police officer, a nurse, and a special education teacher. But, as they say, it is what it is.

Around 9:55 a.m., the vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a transport truck on Highway 6 and Campbellville Road. The highway was expected to be closed in both directions between Freelton Road and Concession 10 for much of the day.

Another three employees of the Manhattan Beach Police Department were at the event, one of whom was shot.

Rhonda LeRocque, the wife of a minister, from MA was at the concert with her six-year-old daughter, father-in-law and husband of 20 years, Jason.

"There was just a barrage of shots being fired", she recalled.

The records technician with the Manhattan Beach Police Department in California had worked there for 10 years, the police department said in a statement.

"It was a total shock to us", he said. The paper says he joined a "group of volunteers" and may have helped remove 30 or 40 people from the gunfire.

Jenny Parks, a mom of two, worked as a California kindergarten teacher.

Travis Phippen, a medic from California, was shot in the arm but managed to help more than 14 others at the scene.

The couple were high school sweethearts and they have two children.

"She just had a heart for people".

Smith, who lived in Simi Valley, had worked for the school district for 16 years, at five different schools.

Her family told Boston 25 News Mrs LeRocque was as "close to perfection as you can get".

Thirty-year-old Charleston Hartfield was a Las Vegas police officer.
