It's an updated version of the existing game that comes with new modes as well as some post-launch downloadable content. Capcom is going to release Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition early next year.

Street Fighter V released on February 16, 2017 for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4.

Alongside the new arcade mode, this new edition of the game adds several special edition nicities (including a gallery of illustrations and slightly improved user interface) as well as some more substantial additions. As for the stand-alone version, it will include all DLC characters from the first two seasons and it will carry a $39.99 price tag. After almost two years, Capcom is finally bringing the number one requested feature to Street Fighter 5 in a brand new version of the game.

And here it is, the official announcement of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. In order to introduce more variety in each match, all characters will receive a second V-Trigger you can choose before the match begins!

Extra battle is another new distraction that tasks players with completing timed challenges and win exclusive costumes. Arcade and Extra Battle modes are both being added to the game. This same release date was also mentioned by the previously reported listing, which means that it is probably not a placeholder.

In somewhat-related news, Japanese arcade company Taito also announced a version of Street Fighter V that is playable in arcade cabinets on Wednesday. We will keep you updated on Street Fighter V Arcade Edition as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news. You'll fight against AI opponents along "six different paths", each with their own unique ending. If that's the same day Arcade mode is released, it will have taken nearly two years to add a feature we were hoping for in our original review.
