Maksim Chmerkovskiy is expressing regret after missing his Monday, October 2, Dancing With the Stars performance due to undisclosed "personal issues" amid reported tension with partner Vanessa Lachey.
Though neither one of them has addressed Mak's absence, or the reports that it was due to their fighting, Vanessa did take to Instagram earlier today to thank Alan Bersten, who stepped in for Maks, and hinted in her post that she and Maks would reunite this coming week. "We are both looking forward to dancing for our fans next week!" he wrote in a pair of tweets.
US Weekly chimed in, quoting an insider who claimed "there is a lot of fighting going on behind the scenes". He lets his followers know that he "can't wait to be back at the Ballroom" and he is "excited" for his "new dance" with the former Miss Teen USA.
"I listen a lot more and I don't speak up as much because this is a field I don't know", she said.
This is not the first time the man did Maks a solid - just last season, he also filed in for him when Chmerkovskiy injured his calf while rehearsing with his then partner, Glee star Heather Morris.
Another report suggested that Vanessa and Maks were having " a big chemistry issue". "He's trained me and taught me so many fantastic wonderful new things just like any trainer would or teacher would".
"Maks is dealing with a personal issue so Alan is stepping in and dancing with Vanessa tonight", Andrews said. "We're cookin up something special for you!"
Meanwhile, speculations have been going around that the real reason why Maks skipped the show was an ongoing conflict with Vanessa Lachey.
