Julie Scott, a spokesperson for United Blood Services, told ABC News that the wait is reportedly between five and six hours for people who are now in line at any of the three donation sites in and around Las Vegas.

"We don't know enough about the details of the tragedy in Las Vegas, but it's clear that it would have prevented the tragedy in Virginia Tech and it may well prevent other tragedies", Friedman said.

"What we're trying to tell people though is to remember we're trying to manage the blood supply as well".

The money "has been donated by generous people around the country that... care about what we're doing", Sisolak said in a news conference on Monday evening.

Staff at the blood bank on March Lane near I-5 says twice as many donors than usual are showing-up all because of what happened in Las Vegas.

"Any type of blood is needed".

"Donating blood really does help we are currently assisting our sister center in las Vegas right now".

Her friend Ruth Xiong came to donate blood, too. She says they also have a tent that they will set up outside, if a situation arises, where they will pre-evaluate patients, treating the most injured first.

Both organizations urge people to donate if more blood is needed for the area.
