In Both AP And Coaches Polls

The Badgers were ranked ninth in the preseason Associated Press Top 25, their first top-10 showing to open the season in the AP poll since 2007.

SEC teams in the Coaches Poll include No. 1 Alabama, No. 12 LSU, No. 13 Auburn, No. 15 Georgia, No. 21 Tennessee, and No. 24 Florida. MI defeated Florida in its opener to rise in the rankings.

MI is ranked No. 8 in each poll, up three spots from last week in the AP Poll and up one spot from last week in the Coaches Poll.

Jason Galloway of the Wisconsin State Journal dropped Florida State four spots to seventh on his ballot this week and said the Francois injury was not a factor. As in the coaches' poll, UF and FSU (10th in the media poll) are the only ranked teams with a loss.

The new Coaches Poll was released Tuesday after week one extended into Labor Day, and Clemson moved up to No. 3 overall.

TCU and Notre Dame jumped into the Top 25 in the AP Poll.

Where it was because they lost a close game in Week 1 or they outscored an opponent by 50 points yet failed have their rankings changed, fans and coaches alike will dispute the poll.

Utah, UCLA, Colorado, Maryland, Oregon, Arkansas, South Carolina and Boise State are pushing for rankings.
