Investigation into attack on Kh Izhar-ul-Hassan underway: IG Sindh


Talking to Britain TV channel, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) senior leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan expressed his concerns over the incident and did not rule out the involvement of close aides in the attack. Four other people were reported to be injured. Police said a militant was also killed in the retaliatory fire while another fled unhurt. Authorities concerned had recovered around 34 shells of bullets fired through two 9mm pistols at the site yesterday.

Meanwhile, the case of the attack has been registered at the CTD with SHO Taimuria Police Station.

The Sindh police chief said after the MQM had split, the leaders of Pakistan faction had been warned of the dangers it might face.

The IGP said they have identified one deceased suspect involved in the attack. A teenager was also killed in the cross-fire.

Condemnations poured in from provincial lawmakers soon after the attack.

MQM Pakistan Farooq Sattar later said in a press conference that the provincial government can not be absolved of responsibility in the incident.
