According to the Tallahassee Democrat, FSU QB Deondre Francois suffered a season-ending patella tendon injury in the 24-7 loss to Alabama.

FSU was already losing by 21 points late in the fourth when Francois' injury occurred.

Harrison got through on a blitz from the backside and dove to sack Francois as he scrambled to his right. Immediately Francois curled up on the field, grabbing his knee.

Florida State hasn't confirmed the report, saying that head coach Jimbo Fisher will provide an update on Francois' injury Monday.

He was taken to a medical tent on FSU's sideline and emerged with a brace on his left leg and using a pair of crutches.

Instead of turning the offense over to redshirt junior quarterback J.J. Cosentino, who has some limited playing experience with the Seminoles, Fisher inserted a true freshman to jump into the fire against Alabama's juggernaut of a defense. He needed help off the field and didn't put weight on it.

The Carolina Panthers didn't waste any time taking a shot at the Florida State Seminoles following their loss to Alabama, bringing up Cam Newton.

"That's where we are", Fisher said, "but we'll evaluate this week and see".

I told my teammates, I told my O-Line before the season started before the first game, I said, 'Any time this quarterback gets on the ground, it's our fault. OK? This highlight reel shows some of the nasty hits Francois took in 2016. It was an interesting choice, but Fisher seemed confident in going back to Blackman should the need arise.
